Finding Anna is a novel developed from the story behind the hymn, "It IsWell With My Soul". Horatio Gates Spafford is the author of this beloved hymn. H.G. Spafford and his wife Anna live in Chicago with their children. Surviving the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, caring for those that had lost nearly everything, and turning his business into that of rebuilding Chicago, Spafford has found success at nearly every turn. Aware that his wife is suffering he decides to take the family on a trip to England. Being aboard the great vessel is thrilling for the children but Spafford is called away, back to Chicago to close a huge deal. So he lets the family sail without him and will meet up with them in a week or two in Europe. Tragedy strikes at sea and the boat sinks. How with the family survive all this? The story will keep you hooked until the very end. A wonderfully written story that really connects you with this family and their friends so you feel for each of them as life takes it toll. I would highly recommend this book.
