Moonlight on the Millpond is set in 1838 in Boston and Tucker Mills, Massachusetts. Maddie is back from Boston to help out at the general store since her uncle does not feel well, while Jace is learning the ropes on his uncle's farm and sawmill to take over one day. Maddie struggles with questions regarding death and knowing that heaven exists. Jace feels that he lives a good life and that should be good enough. Distrust, misunderstanding, deceit, and lying are a few things that keep our couple apart. Many of us could learn from their dealings with repenting and forgiveness. What I loved about this book is it didn't tidy up on the ending. A couple of things were settled but I finished the book with more questions than answers so I am anxious to begin the next book in this series.
