Southern Storm, the second book in the Cape Refuge Series, picks up just where the first book leaves off. The town is moving on after the murder of two of its most prominent citizens. Then suddenly Chief Matthew Cade is missing. With everyone looking for him, clues point to Cade being responsible for a murder. Along with this, babies are missing from hospitals and when the ransom call links back to Cade’s cell phone, rumors fly. I love the fact that all the characters we’ve come to love are back and we get to find out more about the Owens' girls from the first book. I sat on pins and needles as I neared the end of this book because the suspense was that good.
