In Cape Refuge, by Terri Blackstock, the book begins with a gruesome double murder. In this small island town, where everyone knows everyone, the news hits hard. Chief Matthew Cade follows the signs and struggles as he arrests multiple people in connection with the murders, including his best friend. The more you read the more you pull for the truth to be known. Yet, I doubt you'll suspect how this one ends. The characters are endearing as they are all either related to the couple that were murdered or were a part of the ministry that this couple brought to this island town. A great thrill ride, with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing until the end. Christian suspense is not always easy to portray yet Terri Blackstock does an excellent job of keeping the reader in the suspense and stating the gospel adequately. I am anxious to read the follow-up in this series of books.
