The Betrayal, by Beverly Lewis, continues the saga of Abram's Daughters. This book seems to be more focused on Sadie and Leah, as they are coming upon the time to make their kneeling vow to the church and the community. Sadie's choices at the end of book one sends her in a tailspin, continuing to mourn she sulks around the house as her mother has another baby. Leah and Jonah are still courting but he gets an offer to go and learn more about a trade he is interested in but it's far from Lancaster County. These two feel they can handle the separation and Leah makes a choice that could cost her everything. I'm fascinated with the Amish culture as described by Beverly Lewis, I feel as if I'm well informed in each book without it taking away from the story. Such heartbreak in this book makes me eager to continue on in this series with hope that good will come soon.
